Dr. David has been a resident of Augusta since 1970. He is a graduate of Westminster High School, the University of Georgia and the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry. He also received his certificate of orthodontics from MCG. He holds dual appointments as associate clinical professor in the Department of Orthodontics, MCG School of Dentistry and the Department of Surgery, Division of Plastic Surgery, MCG School of Medicine. He is on the staff of MCG Hospitals and Clinics, University Hospital and Walton Rehabilitation Hospital.

He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontists, a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the  American Dental Association, the Southern Association of Orthodontists, the Eastern District Dental Society, the Augusta Dental Society and the Sleep  Disorders Dental Society. He was also elected as a fellow in the World  Federation of Orthodontists. He is married to the former Linda Franks of Hilton  Head Island, S.C. They have two sons, Brian and John.
