braces treatment time

Patient: Michael Brown, 42 years old

Problem: Michael had a deep bite, which caused his upper front teeth to overlap his lower front teeth excessively. This caused him to have a closed bite and also made it difficult for him to bite and chew properly.

Treatment: Michael was prescribed traditional metal braces for his upper teeth. The treatment lasted for 11 months.

Procedure: Metal brackets and wires were attached to Michael’s upper teeth. The orthodontist made regular adjustments to the wire tension to gradually move Michael’s upper teeth and lower jaw into the desired position.

Challenges: Michael experienced some discomfort in the first few days after the braces were put on and after adjustments. He also had difficulty speaking and eating at first, as he had to adjust to the braces in his mouth.

Solution: Michael was given over-the-counter pain relievers to help with the initial discomfort. He also received speech therapy to help him adjust to speaking with the braces in his mouth.

Outcome: After 11 months of treatment, Michael’s deep bite was corrected and his upper front teeth no longer overlapped his lower front teeth excessively. He now has a proper bite and can chew and bite properly.

Conclusion: Traditional metal braces are an effective treatment option for correcting deep bites, as well as other types of malocclusions. With proper care, regular adjustments and some patience, patients can achieve a straighter, healthier smile that can boost their confidence and improve their overall oral health.
